Support for Fair Trade Coffee
They support coffee growers who strive to produce superior coffee, use sustainable farming techniques, and provide fair & healthy conditions for their workers. They will pay more for certain coffees to encourage and support those types of coffee growers.
Green Coffee Beans (unroasted coffee) - Green coffees are all carefully selected. Arabica is the source of true premium specialty coffees. These are what Burman Coffee Traders chooses from. Specialty coffees are judged on:
Acidity- A coffee with higher acidity imparts a dry taste similar to a dry wine. It is most distinctive at a medium roast. Coffees with much higher acidity will generally have fruity overtones. This is a positive attribute in specialty coffees.
Body- Simply put it tastes rich and thick.
Varietal Characteristics- An excellent specialty coffee will have a very specific flavor and aroma different from all other coffee brands. The flavors vary from either extremely bold or even a bit bland and mild.
Seasonal Variations- Each region will produce a different type of coffee bean depending on how the coffee crop is affected. Coffee crops flourish during particular seasons. Burman's job is to uncover the best coffee being grown at any moment in time, and select the best lots from that region.
The first step Burman takes in acquiring new coffee is to get rid of ones that have any negative characteristics like to many twigs or broken beans etc. You will not find any coffee that has a bitter or sour rubbery taste at Burman Coffee Traders. Every coffee must pass the Burman taste test and then the company decides if the coffee is bean is worthy of stocking for customers. They go through many samples of different coffee from all regions of the world.
Tip#- If you order green coffee beans and decide to home roast, know that green coffee beans last a year or more without changing the fresh taste of the roast. Purchasing green coffee beans that won't go bad or stale in the long run which saves you money.
There is a new inexpensive section of great green coffee beans called the Value Blend the blend has coffees that are consistent, delicious, and not the top shelf coffee but still surpasses the supermarket on the shelf brand made by large coffee chains.
Coffee Roasting Equipment
Coffee roasters, grinders, and Chemex coffee makers (an hour-shaped glass with no moving parts that brews coffee), along with other coffee related appliances are important compliments to producing a real gourmet coffee from green beans. Burman carefully selects and tests home coffee roasters. They sell some of the best on the market today.

can is return coffee beans I bought from starbucks?
Ok so today I bought espresso coffee beans from Starbucks and the cashier asked me if I wanted then ground I said yes and told her it was for a French press or press pot. once I got the coffee I notice that it looked like the coffee had been ground to finely. so I was wondering if can return coffee beans I bought from Starbucks since they made the mistake.
I did try it in my press and it same out very sludgy. And once I added milk to it it turned in to a grey like color not a nice tan color like it should. Im not one to complain but Starbucks beans are 10.99 a bag so I would like it to be right.
oh and I used to be a cashier before I became a cosmetologist and we never got in trouble for returned merchandise that had to the trashed. And I worked at hobby lobby and we had broken stuff returned all the time.

Will you be my e-pal and join me in sharing memories, life experiences, comments about things present and past?
My name is Durgesh Kumar Srivastava (first name Durgesh, shortened to DK).I am a gentleman from New Delhi, India I retired as Reader in Commerce and Management from a University college very recently and am convalescing at home after a triple bypass heart surgery in August, 2010.
I am married. Our two sons are grown up, independently well settled and have their own famiies. We have three grandsons aged 15 13 and 7. We have no pets although I love animals..
I always had a variety of interests - movies TV, music, sports travel, literature, creative writing mountaineering and trekking and playing with children, gossiping constructively and problem solving. Now that I am mostly confined to my home, I pass my time in creative writing (blogs, tweets and emails to friends), playing with my youngest grandson and his friends, gossiping with friends, e-palling, arm-chair travel, day-dreaming, doing nothing and (please don't laugh) seeing the world go by. Some of my blogs have been published on the Internet. English not being my first language, My first language is Hindi. I make all sorts of mistakes in writing in English. Please bear with me. I am still unable to fully follow rapidly spoken English as in Hollywood films.
I am a good listener and listen patiently and attentively to what you have to say or write. I am never bored by your story howsoever long. I am also very discreet and what you tell me will always remain a secret with me. I use courteous and respectful language with one and all..I also have a good memory for things past. These I narrate in the many anecdotes that I write about my life. I have an attitude of forgive and forget. This enables me to be at peace with others and with myself. My friends say that they get a great feeling of peace and relaxation in simply being in my company. This is a gift of God and my loving parents.
I was born and brought up at Allahabad in North Central India on 22nd Feb, 1943. Many of my memories relate to my early years in a small locality of my home town where everyone knew everyone else. We were poor but our life was quite rich This richness lay in relationships. We had quite a large family. We used to have a large number of visitors and house guests. My late father was an unsuccessful lawyer with a happy go lucky and jolly temperament. We are Hindus but we love and respect all religions. We joyfully celebrate the festivals of all religions. I am flexible and secular in my attitude and do not practice any religious rituals. I believe in and love God. Also, I am a good singer (mostly songs from Hindi films).
I studied for my Masters in Commerce at the University of Allahabad which was one of the oldest Universities in Asia. I als did my Bachelors in Laws. I subsequently joined the teaching profession and moved to Manipur in the north eastern corner of India, then to Bilaspur in Central India and finally in 1966 to New Delhi the capital city of India. ..
I am light brown skinned, clean-shaved, have almost full dark brown hair, non-greying and non-balding, most teeth and a boyish and young look. I am 5 feet 7 inches + (171 cms)and 75 kgs.
I wear both Indian and western dresses but am most comfortable in casual wear. I prefer vegetarian food and avoid beef, pork and sea food. I have a sweet tooth and secretly and apologetically eat ice creams, chocolates and Indian sweets. I am fond of tea with milk as also espresso coffee with milk but without sugar. I am fond of fruits, veggies and unsweetened fruit juices. I do not drink alcohol and am a non-smoker.. .
I am a 'night owl' remaining awake till late in the night and then sleeping till late in the morning. My wife, on the other hand, is 'an early bird' who gets up very early in the morning. Often my 'Good morning' to her coincides with her 'Good night' to me. But we have been living in peace with each other for the last 44+ years. We are temperamentally incompatible but a Hindu marriage is for life - a sacrament and not a contract. So, we co-exist and life goes on! . .
If and when you write to me pease tell me about yourself, your interests and hobbies, your life experiences, interesting anecdotes from your life experiences and anything and everything that you may like to share with someone whom you can trust to be discreet. My elder sister once gave me a compliment "Bhaiya (brother) you are a champion of secrecy". I invite you to write to me in English on my email ID Jibhaiya@gmail.com with Cc to kumar220243@yahoo.in
I am a computer and Internet novice and am trying to learn and improve my computer/Internet skills as well as Internet etiquette. I shall not mind if you point out some shortcoming in me and my mails. I shall learn and improve. I request you to overlook spelling/grammar/composition mistakes in my e-mails and blogs give me your critical comments and suggestions. Help with an 8th grade science fair project (details inside)...?
Okay, so I have a science fair coming up in early March and I pretty much have a good idea at what to do. I want my project to be really good, so please honest and tell me if you think this is a good idea or not.
My idea is to test out how drinking different caffeinated drinks will affect your heart rate.
The basic idea is having four different levels of the independent variable. One of those levels will be Espresso Coffee (or just normal coffee... I haven't decided), the other will be Coca-Cola soda, another will be Rockstar Energy Drink, and the last will be no drink at all. Each tester will be assigned one of those.
First, I will test each of their resting heart rates and record it. Then, each tester will drink 8 ounces of their assigned drink (except for the person who is assigned no drink). I will test their heart rate 15 minutes after they consumed the drink (or just 15 minutes later for the person who didn't drink anything), 30 minutes after, one hour after, and an hour and a half after they take the drink.I will record their heart rate and see if their heart rate changes.
Does this seem like a good idea to you?
Also, do you think I will get good results? I don't want to conduct the experiment and then not have their heart rates change at all.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Please share! :)
